Powered for the road you choose to take.

Ford Escape offers a line of three engines: The 2.5L with independent variable cam timing (iVCT). The available 1.5L EcoBoost® iVCT, the most fuel-efficient engine in the Escape lineup.* And for more punch at the pedal, the available 2.0L EcoBoost with responsive twin-scroll turbocharger. Both EcoBoost engines feature fuel-saving and emissions-friendly Auto Start-Stop Technology. Choose the combination of power and efficiency that best suits the road you travel.
*EPA-estimated rating of 23 city/30 hwy/26 combined mpg. Actual mileage will vary.

2.0L

2.0L Twin Scroll EcoBoost® with Auto Start Stop

The available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine delivers high performance along with efficient Auto Start-Stop Technology. The unique Twin-Scroll turbo design has two chambers — plus two exhaust runners flowing into the turbo. It gathers exhaust from pairs of cylinders in alternating sequence, maximizing pulse energy to the turbine wheel for quicker torque delivery when you need it on demand.

1.5L

1.5L EcoBoost® with Auto Start-Stop

Standard on SE and Titanium, the 1.5L EcoBoost® is the most efficient Escape engine.* It combines two technologies – turbocharging and direct injection. It also features Auto Start-Stop Technology to help reduce emissions and conserve fuel.
*EPA-estimated rating of 23 city/30 hwy/26 combined mpg FWD. Actual mileage will vary.

Escape S

The new 2.5L engine in the Escape S model features intake variable cam timing (iVCT) technology. iVCT varies valve timing along the entire power curve to suit the driving condition, helping improve performance from low-end acceleration to high-end cruising.

Smarter Than Ever.

2017 Escape is smarter than ever. Available technology can alert you to unintentional lane drift, warn you of a vehicle in your blind spot, auto-maneuver you into (or out of) a tight parking spot, or open the available hands-free, foot-operated liftgate with just a gentle kick under the rear bumper. And the EcoBoost® engines feature Auto Start-Stop Technology to help save fuel when you’re driving in the city.

Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support

Go beyond conventional cruise control. Available Adaptive Cruise Control lets you select the speed and distance you want to maintain from the vehicle in front of you. When traffic ahead slows down, you automatically slow down, and later resume the preset speed when traffic picks back up.10  Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support can alert you to a potential collision with the vehicle ahead. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will precharge and increase sensitivity, providing full responsiveness when you brake.

Lane-Keeping System

The available driver-activated Lane-Keeping System can alert you to unintentional lane drifting.* Choose the Lane-Keeping Alert mode that vibrates the steering wheel when you drift too close to a lane marker — or the Lane-Keeping Aid mode that activates a directional steering torque to help guide you back to the center of the lane. Or combine the effects of both modes: Continue drifting after the steering torque is activated and the steering wheel adds the vibrating sensation.
